Updated information: February 1 NPAC meeting

The North Precinct Advisory Council will meet:
Wednesday, February 1, 2017
7-8:30 p.m.
North Seattle College
Room CC1161, College Center Building 2

As with most NPAC general meetings, the first 30 minutes are dedicated to guest speakers who share information about public safety-related topics. This month, guest speakers will provide information about recommendations made by the King County Heroin and Prescription Opiate Task Force.

  • Jim Walsh, MD, addiction specialist
  • Thea Oliphant-Wells, Seattle-King County Public Health
  • Kris Nyrop, Public Defenders Association
The task force recommendations include a comprehensive array of strategies to address the current opioid crisis that include prevention activities, increased access to treatment, harm reduction, and overdose prevention programs.

As with all NPAC meetings, speakers are followed by information sharing from local and state law enforcement and justice agencies.

Community members are encouraged to share information provided during meetings with the groups they represent and their neighbors.  NPAC meetings are open to the public and people concerned about public safety are encouraged to attend.
